Six Degrees of Football

Welcome to Six Degrees of Football

Hello Football Fans!

Six Degrees of Football was born out of a mix of frustration and, more importantly, a deep love for the game. That love has been built over more than 30 years, watching football in 25 different countries, experiencing unforgettable moments of celebration as well as the heartbreak that only this sport can deliver.

We’re also passionate consumers of football content, but over recent years we noticed an increasing pattern that was hard to ignore. There seemed to be a race to the bottom, where the matchday experience became a side story and the focus shifted firmly onto the presenters as the main characters, rather than the beautiful game itself. The stories of the clubs, the grounds, the managers, the players, and—most importantly—the fans were increasingly lost in the pursuit of clicks, views, subscribers, and sponsor‑driven agendas.

Our aim is to create something different: authentic, calm, informative content that isn’t clickbait and certainly isn’t rage‑bait. Six Degrees of Football isn’t trying to be a debate show, a podcast, or a platform for extreme opinions. Instead, it’s intended to be an enjoyable, light watch—something that offers entertainment alongside insight, sharing our experiences without becoming heavy or overbearing.

About a year ago, I finally decided to take the plunge and give it a go. With no creative background, no filming or editing experience, I launched the Six Degrees of Football YouTube channel and took my first steps on this journey. If you look back at the early videos, that learning curve is very much on display—but that’s all part of the story.

During that time, I’ve been fortunate to cover matches across Northern Ireland and Brazil, the UEFA Under‑21 European Championship in Slovakia, the Under-20 World Cup in Chile, the African Nations Championship in Kenya, and the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. I’ve also produced successful series from Belgium and the Czech Republic, alongside covering individual games across the UK and Germany.

I’ve been equally grateful for the opportunity to work in media and press roles across multiple continents, experiences that have been both hugely rewarding and instrumental in my personal development over a relatively short period of time.

Over this journey, Six Degrees of Football has grown to thousands of subscribers on YouTube, generating hundreds of thousands of views and millions of watch hours. That said, we’ve never been driven by chasing clicks, likes, comments, or subscriber numbers. Our focus has always been on producing high‑quality content. If people enjoy it and choose to watch, that’s a genuine bonus—and ultimately what brings us the most satisfaction.

We’ve already achieved a great deal, but there’s more still to come as we move through 2026 and into 2027.

Now, let’s go and watch some football—and maybe even squeeze in a pre‑gamer along the way.
